James Rydecki was an amazing luthier in CA in the 1980-90′s. He made harps with beautiful even tone that have the ethereal quality of a great folk instrument, but with more of a feel of a pedal harp. This one is amazing. I am selling her because it is impractical to take an important historical harp to gigs all over NYC, I don’t want to invest in a custom carrying case and this harp should really be the focus of someone’s musical life instead of waiting against my wall.

I have taken many pictures because the quality of the wood work is stunning. I do have a tuner and a dust cover that came with the harp. It is like a Thormahlen Swan or a Dusty Strings FHS which are both about is $6,000 and do not have the wood work and the amethyst inlay.

I am constantly frustrated by the lack of harp stores in NYC. After playing the new Mia and the Donegal at the World Harp Congress I was blown away and purchased both! They are amazing and in my opinion put the Lyon and Healy Prelude to shame and carry their own with many famous lever harp makers.

What does a Showroom store mean? That means that you can come by my Williamsburg, Brooklyn studio and play the harps and not order oneĀ  blind (which is what I am usually forced to do-a horrible way to go into a $2-4,000 purchase that is very emotional). Then your harp directly ships from Salvi to you.

What do I get out of it? I have a harp problem….ie I love to play all kinds of music and each one needs a different kind of harp. Right now I am saving for a Salvi Echo electric and I get a credit towards the purchase price.
