ADAM & MIA, being myself and the harpist Mia Theodoratus, present an updated version of our show “Ravens & Roses.” The material ranges from Kraftwerk and Syd Barrett to English folk tunes and the Baroque art songs of Henry Purcell. With new original music.
Sharing the bill is singer and composer Our Lady J (featured in C&C6: Chicken in the Snow) performing with her full band.

I am the harpist with this amazing free improv jazz group. We have a new CD and we do hit it hard. Tonight, downtown drum ace Dee Pop’s itinerant anything-goes series Freestyle Jazz. We are playing with the beat poet John Sinclair.

Adam & Mia are returning to Los Angeles to rock out with their new original Heavy Metal Harp ballad, love songs and their usual mischief. An elegant event featuring a full hour set. RSVP required.
Hi!
I just learned at a party last night I have a record out with great reviews…in typical jazz style we recorded it about 3 years ago and it is finally release. Track 2 is actually great. Have to share the review-
“Free improve from the Downtown NYC scene. Several things here are different from any freeprov material I’ve heard before. Haas plays the shofar (ram’s horn) and the raita (Moroccan oboe). Fiorino plays the lotar (Moroccan lute). All of this adds new and intriguing horn colors to any improve music I’ve heard before. But it’s Theodoratus’ electric harp more than anything that stamps the sound of this band on the memory. It sometimes sounds like a strange variation on that stereotypical harp music used on tv shows to cue a flashback. That, and a half-dozen other things you wouldn’t expect out of a harp, electric or not. It fits hand-in-glove with the band’s swirling, almost chaotic semi-noise. Post-tribal, very hypnotic but pre-mental breakdown, this is music that renders listener psychoactive plant use redundant. Recommended for the tense and adventurous.”

Back I go to my metronome to work on my Adam & Mia set for Palihouse in LA, CA.
Adam and I were honored to be part of Night of a Thousand Stevies at the Highland Ballroom. We did our version of Landslide and had everyone in tears (Thank you Stevie Nicks for such a beautiful song!). It was a little rough doing the arrangment because it brought all my break ups, emotional crisis to the forfront of my mind. But then the point of art is to make you feel.
One of the hardest things to do is to write a simple honest love song. This one is about longing to be with the person who is dear to your heart. The group playing is Adam & Mia with Adam Dugas on vocal and Mia Theodoratus playing harp. The performance is from the Sweet Thunder reunion at Starr Space in Deepest Darkest Bushwick. The whole show was amazing and is what the art scene should be like in NYC
Adam and I are please to be asked to play the legendary event Night of a Thousand Stevies at the Highland Ballroom. Get your tickets early-this event sells out! Read below for the official description-
NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES, New York City’s legendary STEVIE NICKS homage, returns for its nineteenth annual edition on May 1 at THE HIGHLINE BALLROOM. NOTS 19: SONGS OF RHIANNON will be a May Day marathon of twirling and enchantment, produced by the JACKIE FACTORY NYC. This year’s theme – and the centerpiece of the show – are the ten “SONGS OF RHIANNON” penned by STEVIE NICKS in her BUCKINGHAM NICKS days. Some are well loved and well known, like RHIANNON, PLANETS OF THE UNIVERSE, ANGEL and SORCERER, others only demos. In stage decor, visuals and costuming, NOTS 19 pays homage to the Celtic white witch RHIANNON – fitting for a date that is both MAY DAY and BELTANE.
